Common questions

No sales pitch here, just what people usually want to know before getting in touch.

I already have a website. Do I need a new one?

Probably not. If the site works reasonably well and represents the business properly, I can work with what you already have. A rebuild only makes sense if the design, content, mobile experience or underlying structure is holding it back.

What exactly do I get for the £250 AI-readiness upgrade?

I review the important information about your business, check it against your website and Google Business Profile, then create or improve the schema, llms.txt and llms-full.txt files. The aim is to give search engines and AI platforms clearer, more consistent information about who you are, what you do and where you work.

Can you guarantee that ChatGPT or Google AI will recommend my business?

No. Nobody can honestly guarantee that. What I can do is make sure your website gives these systems much better information to work with and removes obvious weaknesses that could count against you.

Does AI optimisation replace normal SEO?

No. Google search still matters. The sensible approach is to get the basic SEO right and then make sure the site is also structured properly for the newer AI-driven search and recommendation systems.

How long will the work take?

A straightforward AI-readiness upgrade should normally take a few days once I have the information I need. A website overhaul or new build takes longer, depending on the amount of work and how quickly we can get the content, photographs and business information together.

Do I have to pay you every month afterwards?

No. The one-off work is genuinely one-off. If you want me to keep an eye on the site, make updates or do ongoing SEO and AI work, there are monthly options, but they are optional.

I’m not technical. How much do you need from me?

You need to know your business, not websites. I’ll ask the questions I need answered and you can reply by phone, email, WhatsApp voice note or in person if you’re local. I deal with the technical side.

Will I own the website and have full access to it?

Yes. If I build you a website, it is your website. You should have your own access to the site, domain and hosting rather than being dependent on me to keep it alive.

Can you work on a website somebody else built?

Usually, yes. I’ll need to look at how it has been built first. Some sites are easy to improve and others are so restricted or badly put together that rebuilding them makes more sense.

Why bother with llms.txt if it is still relatively new?

Because it is inexpensive to put in place properly and gives AI systems a clean summary of the business and its important pages. It is still a developing convention, so I would not pretend it is essential to being recommended today, but it makes sense to prepare for where search is heading rather than wait until everyone else has done it.

What if I’m not sure which service I need?

Send me the website and tell me what you’re trying to achieve. I’ll tell you what I think actually needs doing before you agree to anything.

Still have a question?

Ask directly, no obligation.
